Default Can't search files/folders (normal way NOT WORKING)

On every other distro ive used i just goto "search for files/folders" and than search for a file or folder in a search application and in a few minutes it finds results... On Opensuse 11.1 it doesn't seem to have that ability.

As a normal user it will ONLY find files-- not folders. As root it will search for infinity and never stop searching and never show any results because it is constantly searching...

I am used to there being a separate program for searching, the integrated doesn't seem to work. Im thinking maybe it's some settings, is there a way to tell it to also find FOLDERS, and is there a reason as root it would go into an infinate search, might it be probing my entire windows partition as well?
Basically i need some sort of solution where i can search (from the gui) "normally"? Any?

had a similar problem, but everything has been fixed in opensuse 11.1 so let's test it

open dolphin, CTRL+F, then type root in name field and / in look in field, check include subfolders box and press find

    did that worked?
