    Default default application

How does one change the default application for a file? I don't just want to "open as" I want it permanently changed. When I used Ubuntu I could simply right click on the application in the menu bar, but I can't do that with OpenSuse

    I'm using Gnome

    Hi
Right click on the file and select properties, in the 'open with' tab
    you can set the association.
