Thread: Suse will not wake up after suspend to RAM

Default Suse will not wake up after suspend to RAM

Hello. When I sleep (suspend to RAM) my Suse, it will never come back out of sleep. The light on the front of the computer blinks when it is asleep, but then when I hit the button to wake it up, the computer itself seems to wake up, but the screen remains blank no matter what I try. Thanks

I have a Dell Dimension 8300 with an older Nvidia card. Maybe this has something to do with the Nvidia card.

I'm not entirely sure, but I'm probably using the 173.14.12 since I have an old FX5200 that doesn't seem to have much support anymore.

I had the same problem but updating to the 180.29 driver fixed it.

have you tried to switch to a console (ctrl+alt+F1 to F6) and than back to your X session (F7)? This works for me.
In openSUSE 11.0 I had no problems, now I have to do this workaround and really would like to find a permanent solution.
