Dear All,

Can somebody help me, i am unable to use cube effect the meesage i get is as under -

Failed to activate destop effects using the given configuration options. Settings will reverted to previous values

Check your X configuration. You may also consider changing advanced options, especially changing the composting type

let me know as i am eager to have cube effect on my pc.

System - openSUSE 11.1(i586)
KDE - 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "Release 4.9"

I have 11.1 too but I never actually used kde4.1.3
Right after install I updated to Factory 4.2

I'm sure the cube effect must work in 4.1.3 (unless someone else can confirm otherwise)

In Configure Desktop - Under Look and Feel select - Desktop
Check the box 'Enable desktop effects'
Look for the 'All Effects' tab and make sure you have the 'Desktop Cube' selected.

That should be it.
