Default Digikam Geolocalization Problem under 11.1

I just upgraded to openSuSE 11.1 from 11.0. I am running KDE3.5 and version 9.4 of Digikam as available on the repositories.

Under 11.0 the geolocalization option worked perfectly for me, now, all I get is a blank screen where the map should appear and when I hit either OK or Cancel to get out, Digikam crashes. I have the 1.6 version of kipi-plugins installed from the openSuSE KDE repositories. Any thoughts?

Here is the trace after the crash:
    System configuration startup check disabled.

I have the same exact problem.
Did you manage to solve it?

I have made the switch to KDE 4.3.2, and it works there.

I'm not ready to switch to KDE4... I hoped for a better solution
    Thanks anyway.

I understand. I still have 3.5 loaded and just tried to run DigiKam there, version 9.6, and it crashed on startup. Haven't tried it in a while.

4.3 is slower than 3.5 without a doubt, but at least it is stable now and quite usable. Still miss the speed of 3.5 though, hope it will get there.

    Good luck.

My computer is almost too old for KDE3, I couldn't bear to make it even slower
If no one comes up with a solution, I guess I'll have to keep geotagging my pictures with Geosetter under Windows
