Default How do you change default web browser in KDE4?

I have found the way to do this for KDE 3.x.x but not for KDE 4. Konqueror is the default web browser which opens when you click a link, but I want to use FireFox instead. Where must I go for KDE4 to change the default web browser to something else?

Kmenu > Configure Desktop > Advanced > File Assoc > Text > HTML.

From there just adjust the Application Preference Order

I've done that and applied but links still seem to open in Konqueror. Anything else that needs to be done?

Try going to Desktop Settings/Personalised Settings -> Default Applications -> Web Browser -> Change to 'in the following broswer' -> browse for firefox

A second thanks, that's easier than configuring each application individually!

But it isn't how I did mine:
    Code:
System Settings -> Default Applications -> Web Browser
There, you are given a command name and if you want to look for another command, you can peruse the entire file system for whatever you want. Or, type in the command name, if you are certain of the spelling and correct capitalization.

This leaves me with two questions:
    1. Why should this be so difficult that one has to go to a forum, read hints and then figure out how to apply the information to my particular circumstance, and
    2. Why must the mechanism be continually improved so that answers become obsolete by the time they get found on the internet?

I'm probably just an old crank. I expect developers to put effort into making things obvious. Obviously a wrong attitude.

Obviously since I just had to do the same thing but made no cranky comment.

    Warning frivolous musings follow
Seriously though I think the next KDE release should work on a system where you can type in "default browser" and it would take you to the proper area to change the browser defaults.
    Kernel: 4.12.14-lp150.12.7-default x86_64 bits:
    64 Desktop: Gnome 3.26.2
    Distro: openSUSE Leap 15.0

While I'm on 4.10 already, and can not recall or say with any degree of certainly what it was like on previous versions, try: Alt-F2 and start typing "default ..." Very first hit takes you to what you desire. If, on the other hand, you are running an earlier version then me, and what I suggested doesn't work for you, then, as indicated, you can rest assured that your desire is there in the next release
