Arrow No Sound During Media PlayBack - Sony Vaio FW

    Hi all,

I installed SUSE 11.1 with KDE 4 on a Sony Vaio FW.
There is no sound during CD, DVD, MP3 playback.
    I tried the following software:

    - Amarok
    - Xine
    - Kaffeine
    - VLC
    - CD Player

However I can hear the sound that plays during startup and shutdown.

Thank you for any help on solving this issue

You need to ensure you have only packman packaged media players, and not players packaged by videolan or Novell/SuSE-GmbH. Please try working your way through the following troubleshooting guide:

Thank you very much. I followed the links and I was able to setup the sound and multimedia software correctly.
