Default OpenSuse 11.1 Update Applet doesn't update

It continually reports "No Updates" although zypper up will find upgrades. Any idea what may be wrong, or where (or if) the update applet logs what it is trying to do

    Regards

The applet only "updates" whereas zypper has dist-upgrade and other
    capabilities.

I find it hard to believe that there have been no "updates" since 11.1 was released.

Question Re: OpenSuse 11.1 Update Applet doesn't update

The only way I've been able to get updates reliably is to do it myself.

'sudo zypper update' for example... So far the few I've recieved have come from Community Repositories.

Not so great that 11.1 has been released to the public with something like this not working as it ought to be. Yes, there are ways to work around it, but what about folks that are newer to linux? What if they get pwned from missing an update that they didn't even know they needed? I know, a bit alarmist, but how often have we seen that happen with windoze?
