For some reason, when I try to burn an image to my cd or even dvd with Brasero, the burning process hangs at creating checksum for the cd image and just remains like that. I don’t know whats wrong.

I am having the exact same issue - running latest version of Ubuntu on a gateway mx6214. ubuntu is running off of boot usb external hdd. everything else works perfectly. just when i go to create a cd/dvd it hangs on the checksum. anyone have any ideas?
