Default open windows do not show up on taskbar

okay, so I was trying to remove something i added to the GNOME taskbar panel and i accidentally deleted one of the little notches. If you don't know what I am talking about, there are two little bars on the taskbar that determine where it will display the windows you have open. I have no clue how to get them back. Is there a way to reset GNOME taskbar?

    Hi
Right click on the panel and select add to panel, scroll down the list
and select the one called "window list".
