    Default DU Meter substitute program

    Hi guys,

I was wondering if there is a DU Meter substitute program that I can use on my OpenSuse distro.

    Cheers

DU Meter provides an accurate account of the data which is flowing through your computer's network connection. This readout is presented in both numerical and graphical format, in real time. You can read more about it here DU Meter Home Page

I see. There are a lot. One very flexible is GKrellm. It monitors more than just the network (but you can configure that) and has a lot of nice frontends. For KDE there are a couple of widgets and Superkaramba themes.

Recognizing that there are many here who have NO idea what is (or is not)
available for Windoz, you might want to (instead of asking by brand name [like
"DU Meter"] search one of these site to find the _capabilities_ you need:

    1. Find open source software alternatives to well-known commercial software.
    http://www.osalt.com/

    2. The table of equivalents / replacements / analogs of Windows software in
    Linux. http://www.linuxrsp.ru/win-lin-soft/table-eng.html

    3. Linux software equivalent to Windows software
    http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/...ndows_software

    4. Linux Equivalents to Windows Software

    5. The Linux Alternative Project http://www.linuxalt.com/

    6. Open Source Software http://sourceforge.net/

    7. Google. For example, this search

    Code:
    linux "DU Meter"
returns about 74,100 in English. Are any of those helpful?

    8. Google. For example, this search

    Code:
    equivalent windows software for linux
returns about 269,000 OTHER places that try to provide lists of software like
the five or six I listed for you above (from many I have bookmarked).

In some ways, Linux is like an exciting new Search and Find Game. (Redmond hides
the goods inside Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (aka FUD) and we search until we
find the prize.) Enjoy the software, AND the search.
