Thread: P7Zip & others?

  1. #1

    Default P7Zip & others?

I can't get this to work. I install it under Yast and it says it installs fine, but I can't find the program under application, etc.

I am using SUSE 11.0 with Gnome.

I also installed GZip and Rzip with the same results.

With windows (yes, I am a Linux noob) you could right-click and ZIP there or bring up the app and choose the files.

    Please help!

    Hi
7z, 7za and gzip are the commands to run from the cli. For a GUI, open
the program called file-roller and then if you create a new archive you
    can select the format.

If you want to be able to right click on a file to compress or extract it you can install "kde4-ExtractAndCompress". This is available in the Packman repo's.
