Question Help! How to change desktop background?

    Hello everybody!

Yesterday I installed openSuse 11 with KDE 4.1.
The system runs great and nearly everything is fine, but I can't find a way to change the green desktop background.

In KDE 3.5.5 I used the KDE Control Center. I can't find it in KDE4. Also tried systemsettings, without success.

But how to this in KDE 4?

    Greetz,
    Harry

Hi, right click anywhere on desktop and go to "Desktop Settings". Under Wallpaper choose "Image" as Type and browse the location of your wallpaper.

    Thank you for this information.

I opened this dialog, changed the background, but nothing has changed. Also after rebooting the green was there again. :-(((

It seems that the green Suse background could not really be changed...

    Hmmm... another idea?

    Greetz,
    Harry

Some weeks back there used to be this same problem. See: kde 4.1 Factory Update - Plasma desktop issues - openSUSE Forums

A couple of updates had solved it. So make sure your KDE 4.1 is up-to-date.
