Default glxinfo rendering no ATI Radeon 7500

I just installed OpenSuSE 11 and have to say I'm impressed. I decided to use KDE 4 and it is slick.

The only issue I am having now is getting 3d acceleration to work. Glxinfo |grep rendering shows

    direct rendering: No

This card is an older ATI card and not supported with the ATI corp drivers. I know the card is supported with the kernel drivers as I had 3d acceleration working under Gentoo Linux.

Below is my xorg.conf. Any suggestions on how to get this to work would be appreciated. The FAQ's states in OS11 this all should work out of the box..

hmmm strange. No idea why you get SW rendering only. Can you use Yast -> Hardware -> Graphics Card and Monitor to activate the 3D of your card?

No idea really. Maybe someone else could help? Also if by chance you have the Gentoo xorg.conf file, you could compare it to SUSE's one

I tried that already to no effect. I also checked to make sure opensuse 11 had all the suspect kernel options set (/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/defconfig.default). I'm wondering if there is an issue with the radeon drive opensuse is using?
