    Unhappy Installing JDK on Suse

I am tring to install jdk on suse Enterprise 10,there is no problem with installation but first time when i set the path and classpath by giving the following command
    Code:
    export JAVA_HOME=root/..../JDK1.6.0.10
    export PATH=$PATH:$PATH={JAVA_HOME}/bin
    export CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:.
    it works fine

but as soon as i logged off or run the java command it says bash:java command not found

i added the above lines to /etc/profile as well but it doesnt work

and i faced one more problem ,when i echo the path
    # echo $PATH
java path is repeated many times on this
i dont know what to do

    Hi
Remove your variables from /etc/profile and add them instead to
your .profile in your home directory.
