Yup, having the same problem here. Same is happening with Kontact too....Any resolutions yet? Running KDE 4.1.3 release 4.9.

    Thanks,

I too can confirm this issue, it is very annoying. I am using compiz from the XGL Build Service repository as the one in the OSS repository does not work on my machine, and it always kills window decorations.

With the current version, I notice significant delays in window painting, distortions around menues (like black lines, or seemingly random colored lines), and general lagging. That was not the case on 11.0.

For me the native kwin effects are even slower than compiz, so I opted for the latter. But at least they work, so I am thinking of switching back. For example, wobbly windows are waaaaay smoother when using compiz than when using kwin effects. Both however seem to give me better and smoother performance than if I ran the desktop without the effects enabled.

Hopefully this issue is going to get resolved quickly.

what repo are you getting compiz from?

here is the one you should be using with KDE4: Index of /repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_11.0_KDE4_Factory
    OpenSUSE Leap 15, KDE5 (plasma 5.13, frameworks 5.49, QT 5.11)
