If you mean the factory repo’s

KDE4 Factory:

Desktop:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.0

Extra:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0

Community:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.0_KDE4_Factory_Desktop

QT:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/Qt/openSUSE_11.0

Thanks! I’ll be waiting a week or so to hear your thoughts/experiences.

Well so far so good for the last few hours. Nothing is popping it’s ugly head up at me.

Drift your mouse over the panel (like the start menu button) and you will see slight improvement. No major steps forward here, but then we can’t expect that until we go 4.2

I can’t see any reason to hesitate with the UP on this though.

WEIRD… i just enter yast to see upgrade to 4.1.3 and I found out theres some packages available for 4.1.3 and others have a regression to 4.0.4
Can someone confirm this???

i have this repos

Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.0

Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Community/openSUSE_11.0/

Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0

thanks!

remove then replace your update repo

Wow, kwin effects (especially minimize effect) are a lot smoother now…i have nVidia 6150SE

Unfortunately I have problems with 4.1.3
After the restart plasma is loading the CPU at 100%, nothing works - the menu, the icons, the plasmoids. The systray is broken. :frowning: I’ve tried with the root account but the result was the same.

Same as what? No one else in this thread mentioned any!

I see your description though and suggest:

Double check your repo’s

Yes, you were right! Now everything is ok. The problem was libqt4 and it’s dependencies. It was upgraded to wrong version.

I just install 4.1.3 on an older PIII 866MHZ 768MB system. All appears to be
working correctly so far. Its a little slow but the system is 9 years old.
Tommorow I hope to install it on my new system which is Intel x48 chipset
with dual core 2 1033MHZ and 4Gb 1033 MHZ memory. In both instances I am
using openSUSE 4.0.

I will post if I have any problems.

still having regression problems with repos… even after removing repos and adding again… what am I doing wrong!??

Same problem here!!!

Hmmm… I had problems too, until I just did a search for ‘kde’ and just updated everything that turned up and was already installed… though that’s probably the Sledge-Hammer approach x-)

I wonder why Suse does not provide a ‘pattern’ or some kind of meta-package that makes it easier to upgrade to the next KDE version?

Wow openSUSE thats old  I suppose you mean KDE 4.0

Geoff

snip In both instances I am
using openSUSE 4.0./snip

Hello.
Today I’ve updated packages and I had the same problem.
How can we solve?

I have these repositories:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.0
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.0_KDE4_Factory_Desktop
Index of /repositories/KDE:/Qt/openSUSE_11.0

and all my packages are updated.

Bye.

Open Yast Software Management
Filter by repo
Make sure you don’t have RED packages or even BLUE for that matter

Just posted in another thread, the issue is due to the QT libraries
I had the Anubsg1respository enabled. the QT version on it was higher that that in the KDE factory & QT repos.
a downgrade to the QT repo version fixed it.
