LOL, no not yet. But I just checked out the features and I have to say the upgrades for dolphin look amazing. While there are a LOT of things I love about Linux over windows/mac, the GUI stuff and ease of use was never it. But with some of those changes, they actually pulled back even and in some cases went over windows/mac in terms of useability/efficiency.

    * The treeview, icon preview, etc brings them to equal
    * The filter-bar is really cool and will help save a lot of time: http://kde.org/announcements/4.1/scr...-filterbar.png
    * The hover-deselect is really cool: http://kde.org/announcements/4.1/scr...n-screenie.png
    * Integration of network/local files looks very smooth

I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Unfortunately, the updates over the last 2 days have borked my system. No plasma desktop ... or at best I get a partial plasma with KDE3.5 taskbar. No yast so having to figure out using CLI and zypper. Updates from Nov 20, 21 & 22 (today)

Yikes! Have you tried their mailing lists or forums to find out if this is a known issue?

    Hi,

I noticed something similar: today a ran online update via yast and the available kde3 (kdebase3 collective update) and kopete (also kde3 version) update (official update repo) wanted to downgrade kde4!!!! Because these updates are activated by default zypper may downgrade kde4 which could have caused the described issues. Actually I've added these two patches to the list of locked packages/patches to prevent an installation of these packages in the future.

Well, there is now. LOL Seriously, I have the KDE4 panel at the top and KDE3.5 panel at the bottom. The desktop is KDE3.5

I figured out zypper on my own and disabled all but the factory repos mentioned in a prior post and ran zypper clean, ref, up and got the response, "nothing to do"

Rebooted and now KDE will not start. It tries and then takes me back to the login screen. Gnome works fine. I deleted .kde and .kde4 and tried again and still nothing.

    sudo rpmdb --rebuilddb

    su
    password

    zypper lu

    zypper up
Trying this now. We'll see if it works.

    Thanks.

Okay, I'll bite what do you do if you have various red and blue packages over all the repo's say maybe 20 or 30 total of red and blue?

    I'm very curious about this.
    thanks,
