dolphin and konqueror broken

openSuSE 11.0, KDE 4.1.

I get the same problem as other folks with Dolphin in superuser mode: Blank screen where files should be and an error message about can’t talk to klauncher.

Okay, I’ll just use Konqueror instead, right?

Problem is, konqueror (and many apps’ save & open) don’t see removable media (even though the hardware widget does) until I’ve opened 'em with Dolphin.

Is there a setting I need to change?

Most removable media will be in /media in your directory tree.

If someone is interested in the bug being fixed… vote it: Bug 165268: Dolphin, launched by command “kdesu dolphin” does not work.

(…if you are very interested annoy people at bugzilla.novell.com or opensuse-kde mailing list  )

I commented on this, as I see what you mean. I had been using kde3 for su work. I noticed the Dolphin su file manager appear after a update not long ago, but never really tried it.
The release of 4.1.3 next week may bring a fix, though I’m not sure when it will be in the Suse repo’s.

Same problem in 4.1.3. Thanks RedDwarf for the vote link. -GEF
