Thread: Weird Display Issue

  1. #1

    Default Weird Display Issue

    When I went to "Configure Desktop" and clicked on "Display" it made the screen go blank for a second, then it came back up in 800x600 ratio (which is smaller than I usually do it) and had a square in the upper left corner of black verticle lines.

    It did not give the option to undue the settings or apply, it simply was the new setting. And to get rid of the black box and redo the settings (it left the taskbar as small), I had to log out.

    NOTE: It does this EVERY time I go to configure desktop->display!!!

    What could be causing this issue?

    Plasma - most likely and or you have some conflict with desktop effects and your graphics device.

    Explain if and what desktop effects you employ. And what graphics device and driver you use.

    I take it there were no crash reports?

    No desktop effects. (I believe, as I haven't added anything to the default and there's nothing in "Plasma Dashboard. The only "widget" I've added is the trash can to the desktop)

    Graphics Device:
    * monitor = HP Pavilion F50
    * card = ATI Technologies Mach 64GR
    * driver = ati
