    Default Some KDE4 Questions...

I've been a Kubuntu user for quite some time now, and am definitely considering switching to the KDE4 version of openSUSE. I'm actually posting this from the LiveCD right now, and have a few questions about KDE4, and openSUSE in general.

-How can I get the window list to show up in two rows? It seems no matter how large I make the panel, it's still only one row.
-Same question as above, but with the system tray.
-Can I disable all of the sounds (minimize, maximize, closing, etc.)?
-Like I said, I use Kubuntu. Does openSUSE have a package manager like apt? For example, if I want to install Pidgin under Kubuntu, it's as simple as sudo apt-get install pidgin.
-Where are all the theme settings? (Window border, etc)

    Thanks for your help.

    3. Yes. I don't have these enabled by default. But it is certainly possible to configure.

    4. Yast is the admin centre. Software management
If you prefer CLI it's like this from su

    zypper up (to update)

    Zypper/Usage/11.0 - openSUSE

Will 1/2 ever be implemented in KDE4, or are they a thing of the past? I'm only concerned because my old laptop runs at 1024x768, so screen real-estate is pretty important for me.

    Thanks for the response though.

Impossible for ME to say. My guess is Yes. I found it disappointing myself at first, but it has not proved too much of an issue as kde4 seems to be able cram a heap of windows in the tasks.

Two row taskbar and systray were there in 4.0 iirc, and should return in 4.2. They're not in 4.1 because of qt bug afaik.

You configure sounds and other notifications in systemsettings -> Notifications (In the menu systemsettings is called "Configure Desktop / Personal settings")

Gui packagemanagement is yast, cli is zypper.

Appearance of KDE4 is configured in systemsettings -> Appearance
