10.3: How to configure pine for root?

I am running a virtualized openSUSE 10.3 box as a TYPO3-based webserver.

Now I would like to catch the system-mails that are sent to root with pine, but I have no idea what I have to do. The command ‘mail’ ist not available, postfix is running (no idea how it is configured - I just installed it from the DVD) and pine is available on the box too.

Thanks for help

Pine is a mailreader. Just run it, it might just be configured to work out of the box.

But really if you just want to read system mails, install the mailx package, which provides /usr/bin/mail.

Hi
Or redirect to a user via the /etc/aliases

When opening pine root’s mailbox is empty :frowning:

But I will give mailx a try as I don’t want to use the mail for anything else.
