windows/applications dissappear when minimized

Hi Everyone,

I am currently running opensuse/gnome 11 on my system.
My problem is simple, whenever I minimize a window they simply disappear but they keep on running somewhere in the background.I am hoping you guys can help me to solve this.

I will appreciate any reply,

Thanks,

Hi
So they are not displayed in the panel? What happens if you add the
workplace switcher via right-click on the panel -> add to panel ->
workplace switcher.

You mean Task Manager?

Uwe

Exactly, Task manager;)

Hi Jacqo,

You probably have your panel set to only display windows that are active in the current workspace. If you switch to the other workspaces… do they reappear?

You can set this behaviour on you panel.
The Window List has a little vertical bar on the left side (look on the panel, it’s probably right from the menu button). Right click on the little vertical bar (not the panel itself) and select preferences.

You should have the option show windows of current or all workspaces.
Select to view windows from all workspaces.

That should do it?

Cheers,
