    Default MySQL Connector

Can someone PLEASE give me a step by step guide on how to install EITHER the JDBC Connector OR the the ODBC connector for OpenSuSE 11.

Everything I have found so far reads like total gibberish. I fondly imagined that as OpenSuse 11 has both MySQL and OpenOffice Base that the drivers / Connectors would be pre-installed, but I guess that was expecting a bit much.

Open YaST, and go to Software Management. And search for jdbc. There you have boot Official JDCB Driver for MySQL, and JDBC/ODBC bridge driver for java-1_6_0-sun. Install one of these. For the latest driver, add the Official update repository Index of /update/11.0 to Software Repositories (howto: Add Package Repositories to YaST - openSUSE).
