    Hi
    A search here http://software.opensuse.org/search for gimp shows a 2.6
    version here;
    http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...me:/decriptor/

    You didn't say what release you where looking for though

    Hi
    You would need to install from a source tarball and specify your
    install location. You could also use the src rpm, but that would
    require a reasonable amount of effort over using the source tarball.

    MalcomL

    i have done a little testing with the tar balls in Ubuntu without too much luck... used this option in the ./configure

    --prefix=/opt/gimp-2.6

    I needed several other file that needed compiling as well .. Thinking with suse ...11.1 test may have better luck .. plan on giving it a try

    Thank you for the reply

    I used whatever 2.6 I found through the software search for OS 11 and it worked out ok but haven't really had a chance to fully test GIMP but it does look pretty nice so far.
