    Default desktop not full screen. help

    Hello everyone i am a new user in the linux world. I have just installed opensuse with kde 3.5. Everything installed fine. But when my desktop opens up it only covers 1/3 of my whole computer screen and it hangs also in the top left hand corner. Does anybody know how to expand the screen to fit the full size of my screen?

    * xosirusx,

    at a guess: You have an NVidia or ATI video card. Install the proprietary drivers. In Yast, Software, Software repositories, enable the repo for your card's manufacturer and install the drivers.

    BTW, this question would fit in the install-boot-login forum much better.

    For all he knows it could be a KDE issue.
    It's sometimes difficult to figure out where to ask a question.

    Say i would like to know how to get surround sound when playing a game under wine.
    Where would i ask such a thing?
    Is it a hardware issue, a application issue, a games issue, or all three?

    I agree it is debatable.
