In KDE, when keyboard layout switch is set to ctrl+shift, any other ctrl+shift+... combinations refuse to work. Text editors don't highlight the text by pressing ctrl+shift+left/right, Opera doesn't open link in background tab by pressing ctrl+shift+left click, and so on. That's pretty annoying.
Can it be fixed somehow without changing the layout switch combination? (I'm used to it...)

Using OpenSuse 10.3/11.0 (on different PCs) and KDE 3.5
