I’ve used one in person. Even Vista runs fast on it. So you know how well Linux will work once its installed. For $449 it’s the best laptop deal I’ve seen.
He meant “What wireless chipset?”. The manufacturer’s specs seldom say.
Open a terminal and enter the following command ‘/sbin/lspci -nnv’,
find the section that describes the wireless, and post the first two
lines from that section.

I don’t know what Mint is, but if it is a Linux distro, the handling
(or not) is a function of which kernel is included. If there is a
driver for whatever version of the kernel that they use, it will work
and vice versa.
