Default open office causes opensuse to freeze when started

I installed OpenSUSE yesterday and it works for me exept for one rather annoying problem. when I try to open open office the whole system freezes, I really cant do anything, the mouse wont move and the keyboard i non-responsive. the only thing that works is pressing the power button until the machine stops. I have tried to reinstall Open office it did not work.
    Whats a boy to do...?
    I am using opensuse 11 kde 4.04

OpenOffice 2.4.1.6 works smoothly here, so i guess if you _need_
Office then you should not live so close to the bleeding edge....
