    Default how to give permissions to users

    how to give permissions to users.

    i hv a user called "lxuser"
    but this user cannot create any folders/cannot install any s/w
    how to edit this users permissions.
    (is there any graphical mode tool)

    You may want to try Yast>Security and Users look for User Group Management you can add users there as well as permissions.

    A user should be able to create directories (folders) and files inside his own home directory. When not, there is something wrong with the ownership/permissions of his home dirctory. Change as Sagemta proposes.

    A user should not be able to install sytem wide sofware packages, that's up to root.
