Default Where to add new fonts

I would like to install fonts (TT & Bitstream Vera) from a CD.
Where (which directory) should I copy them to in openSUSE 11 (x86)?

well for KDE I would do:
Personal settings > System Administration > Font Installer.

You can add fonts there for your current account or press Administator Mode button to add them for all.

I am not familiar with Gnome on this.
