Wireless not connecting on KDE 3.5.9

Hi,

I have just switched from Vista to Opensuse 11. Originally I installed KDE 4 but found it crashed a little too often so uninstalled KDE 4 and replaced it with KDE 3.5.9 “release 49.1”. My wireless worked fine with KDE 4 but with KDE 3.5.9 I can only access the internet through a wired connection. When I try add establish a wireless connection (by right-clicking the globe on the bottom right and selecting my wireless ‘eth0’ settings) I just get a connecting icon (looks like a spinning cog wheel in place of the globe) which never seems to actually connect.

Below is what I get after Linux@linux-zqo6:~> /sbin/lspci ;

Would anyone be able to suggest a way that I could resolve this problem? Any help would be much appreciated as I really don’t want to have to go back to Vista with its blue screen of death problems.

Thanks.

is this a usb device or an on-board device ? if on-board,make sure it is switched on. if usb,post the output of lsusb. also, can you tell us the make/model of the wireless device ?

Andy

Its an on-board device and is switched on. ‘/usr/bin/lsusb’ anyway gives:

linux@linux-zqo6:~> /usr/bin/lsusb

The wireless device is an RT73 USB Wireless LAN Card.
