Default Server unable to connect to Router?

    Hi everyone,

I am experiencing a nightmare of a time with my server, I want to focus on setting it up to host websites and stuff but after using it for a while it loses internet connectivity. I have check to ensure the network cables are connected correctly but still no luck.

When I boot up the server the error prompt which is displayed to me shows

"repo-non-oss: Valid Metadata not found at specified URL(s)"

I would like to solve this problem as soon as possible so that I can continue with the configuration of the LAMP server so please help me.

also whilst posting, if anyone has a link to a good general tutorial about how to use Linux for newbies would be VERY much appreciated.

I just can't figure this out, does anyone have any possible solution suggestions?

This is so frustrating, I would expect it to be more intuitive.

I'll be trying to sort this issue out and if I cannot find any help from the support forum I'll just format the server again for the 5th time since I bought the annoying thing.

OH GOODY! Would you format it a few times for me then? I've always like a
    good formatting in the evenings...

You DO realize that you've given us NOTHING to work with... What have you
installed? How is it connected to the network? Do you have a router? Are
you on DSL? Cable? Is your router set to disconnect after inactivity? Do
you know what that even means? Which repository is that error message
referring to? (I know, but do you?) What version of opensuse are you using?
What are you doing on the system when this happens? Is the kitty eating
through your cables? Who's your internet provider in England? How is your
network card configured in YaST Network Devices? Are you using DHCP or
Static IP? Does your ISP provide dynamic or static addresses? Do you know
    your external IP?

    {Smile}

We got nuttin' ... making it VERY difficult to help you troubleshoot your
problem. Blaming us for not helping isn't kosher... how can we? But
    y'know... maybe the 6th time... it'll work!
