    Default ktorrent launches pdftotext which occupies all cpu

    Hello,
    I am downloading a big folder of pdf files with ktorrent 3.0.2 in OS 11. The problem is that why pdfs are downloading ktorrent somehow launches a pdftotext threads, one at a time, for each pdf file. If I kill the thread the next starts immediately.
    Is this a bug and could it be fixed?
    Thanks.

    Out of curiosity, is this an archived "folder" (ie a single file) or are you running a different torrent for each file?

    Hmmm, wonder what a fake pdf file looks like...

    Are you using KDE 4 or KDE 3? ktorrent has no provisions to interpret any
    file it downloads.

    {Chuckle} Just realized... do you still have Beagle installed and running?
    it's indexing your pdf's as they arrive.

    Yes!!! I thought this was the case! So beagle is indexing pdf and for that it needs them converted to plain text?
    That should be it! Than I think I will leave that running because I think that beagle is a great thing!

    Thanks for the tip!

    Well, kinda hard to read graphics isn't it? I mean, even YOU and I convert
    the pretty pixels which are in patterns resembling our favorite language's
    printed lettering into mnemonic representations of the indicated letters,
    stringing them together to get implied words, to which we apply meaning and
    ultimately understanding.

    So yes, Beagle needs to convert the PDF into text so it can index it. {Grin}
