Thread: Strigi taking too long

    Default Strigi taking too long

I turned strigi on in systemsettings and it started indexing my computer using the redland backend. It's been a week since then and it continues with the indexing? why is it taking this long? is this natural or it is just running in circles and will never end?

I had the same results. It was just taking forever so I turned it off. I'm not very impressed with it so far. Hopefully it will get better in the future.

It supposed is very fast and very lightweight at indexing. Something is wrong. IIRC, with Beagle you could have this problem if trying to index, for example, vfat. I actually checked on such gotchas on the strigi dev's site, didn't see any. But this is new and he is enthusiastic - perhaps check his site, even drop him a query?
