KDE4, can't select multiple items on the desktop!

Hello!

How can I select multiple items on my desktop?

I’m using OpenSuSE 11.0, with KDE 4.0.

Please tell me what I can do, and in the case that it isn’t possible, please tell me how I can revert to an older version of KDE.

hold down Ctrl and click each item

maybe do it from the file manager as opposed to the actual desktop itself

kde3 is in the repo’s
its in patterns
select
kde3base
kde3desktop
