Default VLC player automatically starts up

When I start Open Suse 11.0 VLC player automatically starts up as well. Can anybody tell me please how to avoid this?

    Thanks

Don't know if you're running with Gnome or KDE. But in Gnome you can find
in Computer|Control Center Sessions options for remembering currently
running apps. Make sure this isn't checked. Also check the list of startup
programs that VLC isn't within that list. The later is Gnome's autostart
    feature.

If running KDE make sure that you don't have VLC added to your autostart.

In the future a thread like this is better suited in the multimedia forum.

    Hello Niclas,

Thanks for the answer. I am working with KDE 3.5. I supposed already that there should be something like AUTOSTART in Suse, however I just can't find the item.
Could you please tell me where to look.

I found the "Autostart" folder (cd .kde/Autostart/) but as far as I could see no entry was made here. I am relatively new to Suse and wonder if entries in Autostart could be hidden in some way or another.

Files in Linux are hidden by prefixing the name of the file with a dot.
I'm a Gnome guy so my knowledge in KDE is pretty limited. But if you open up
the Autostart folder in a terminal and do 'ls -la' you should be able to
see if there are any files hidden.
