so tell us, are you using SuSE 9.2, 10.3 or what?

and, is it Gnome, or KDE3 or what?

*IF* it is 10.3 and KDE3 this might work (i read it somewhere else
around here in the last few days)

open a terminal and type kicker and hit enter..

if that doesn't work i don't THINK it will hurt anything....if it does
not work why don't you give the advanced search a try...

you might seek all threads with the word panel in the subject...one
of those will probably have the info you need....you might even find one
that the original posting TELLS what software is in use..

Are you using Gnome or KDE (and which version of KDE)?

Exactly what is displayed? Is panel completely blank or is something displayed - such as a small box with a message inside of it?

What desktop are you using -- kde (which one) or gnome

My guess: He's using KDE4, right clicked on the taskbar and chose remove.

Which makes the taskbar go bye bye permanently and apparently there's no way to return it other than deleting .kde4 from your home directory which of course nukes all your settings for that profile.

I might, of course, be wrong and there might be some way to return it.

Somewhere in this forum is a post telling you how to restore it. Do a search.

I have had annoyances with the panel and end up recreating it each time. Install the empty panel, then click on the cashew or right click the desktop. Select "add widgets." Near the bottom of the list will be a widget for the systray. Click add.

I add the application launcher, nearest the top of the list; the digital clock, and the logout widget. After that, I open the application launcher and look for my favorite apps. Right clicking on them give you the option to add them to the panel.

The panel is harder to work with than I would like, but I expect it to get better.

So I need to reinstall KDE? Jesus >.<

I'm using KDE and openSUSE 11 <downloaded yesterday

    That is just retarded.

Secont question (maybe someone will read this)
I have 17'' CRT Samsung SyncMaster 793DF monitor and if I use 1024*768 screen size my monitor goes nuts and makes wveird noise. Now I'm sticking with 1280*1024 but it's not what I want.
The wveird thing is that sound goes from monitor inside - it's like sweeping or smtn.

    sorry about my english rocks

no, you don't have to re-install KDE. Just delete the hidden folder called .kde/kde4 & everything should be recreated

No you are not reinstalling kde. Please re-read the posts
You are just deleting a file from your /home.
