    Post How to make "mailx" to send mail to gmail.com?

    Can smn help in configuing mail on my suse 11?
    No GUI is installed, only Command line.
    Do i need to configure postfix on my box, to make "mailx" send mails to gmail?
    Or can i use my sevice provider SMTP with "mailx" to send mail?

    mailx by default will invoke sendmail (or the postfix compatible program of the same name) to relay the mail to your ISP's SMTP server, or probably simpler, you can set the smtp variable in mailx to point directly to your ISP's SMTP server. See man mailx, search for smtp.
