Default CPU Frequency in opensuse 11

Hello all. I installed opensuse 11 as a server (with only text mode, no WM) and was wondering... How do I verify that the throttling of the CPU (which I assume uses CPUFreq) is occurring? I have an X2 installed in a Shuttle XPC, and this server will be running (when complete) 24/7. I want to verify that the throttling is working, so that I don't have to worry about heat issues with the CPU running at full speed, day in, day out. Thanks in advance for any insight!

    Hi
Have a look down in /proc/acpi/processor eg

    cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/info
    cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/throttling

    and

    cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep MHz

Should show you the current speed

Thanks so much for the quick response! That is just what I needed. Granted, it isn't absolutely necessary that I know this info... I am sure it would be fine running at full speed all day, but there is no sense in wasting the power and generating the heat. It just makes me feel better knowing that it will be properly throttling. Thanks again!

Odd... xxx/info reported 'throttling control: no' and xxx/throttling reported 'not supported', yet when I cat cpuinfo at idle, it reads 1000mhz, and if I do it again while running 'md5sum > /dev/urandom', it shows 2200mhz. Obviously, it works, but isn't reported as such. Oh well... It works. How can I argue with that? Thanks again!
