Default installer won't run failsafe boot will

not sure what it all means but if i try to boot the install disc i get an IRQ error. kernel panic failed to synchronize something or other. ubuntu does it too. i already had opensuse 11 installed on the system and if i try to boot the regular install it will just shoot me out to a blank screen. if i choose the failsafe boot option it loads fine and i'm back to my problems of no USB keyboard, wrong graphics resolution and no WLAN. i'd love to tell you more about these things but i can never get a keyboard to work in OS11.

as it sits the only thing in the system in the graphics card and the hard drives. all the pci cards are removed and i've even disable certain things on the motherboard like the extra SATA controllers and the onboard audio.

    Hi
Have you tried resetting the ESCD (enable) in the BIOS, is the BIOS set
for a PnP OS, have you tried setting the IRQ to manual?

i haven't tried any of those. i'm using an MSI board with a precarious BIOS menu. i'm pretty sure it's all set for default values though because i pulled the CMOS battery and even pushed the little red button to reset it. everything should be default aside from the things i turned off under "integrated peripherals".

i'm going to go try these things. any ideas why my keyboard doesn't work though? it will work in Windows but not in opensuse. i can load opensuse i just can't do anything with it because of the keyboard issue.

First you,re keyboard should work ,even in the failsafe mode.
So what kind of keyboard is it ? Windows keyboard ,PS2 or something else
If suse is installed do not change anything in BiOS setup without writing down what you have changed , so you can change it back.
WE need the keyboard before we try to fix the other problems
