    Default 1-Click Collection

For anyone wanted to get codecs, sound working, VideoLan set up, this resource proved invaluable to me:

    1-click-collection - openSUSE-Community

and also the nVidia one click

    NVIDIA - openSUSE

    Nice link!!

I don't think it will help with basic sound though, all though it WILL in the most part help newbies sort their codecs.

For basic sound problems, it can be much more complex, and I recommend this:
    SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE

I confess I am from the old school, and for sound codecs and multimedia in general, I still prefer the old way of IMMEDIATELY after a fresh install of setting up one's repositories (with OSS, Non-OSS, Main Update, and Packman) per this URL:
    openSUSE-10.3: Repositories/10.3 - openSUSE-Community or
    openSUSE-11.0: Repositories/11.0 - openSUSE-Community

and then surf packman web site PackMan :: Startseite (using their great search function - use the advanced by clicking on magnifying glass) to determine what I want to install (although in my case having been doing this sort of activity for over 10 years now, I already know)

One-click seems to be the new wave, ... and I'm feeling very old.
