I have installed Xp and Suse about 6 month ago on my laptop, with the help of a friend. Then i have formated the Xp, and the suse is still on the PC (because i made 2 partisions before), and installed XP again. but the problem is now i don't see the menu, where i pick whick OS I want to run.
my fried is away, before he left he said linux is still on the pc, just one litlle thing should be done so that duall boot will work....

how and what should i do??

    I'm sorry i am a total newbie...
so please step by step explanations would be really appreciated
    thanx

windows trashes the master boot loader whenever it is installed which is
why you usually install windows and then your other OS (whatever that
is) and then let the other OS's boot loader (Grub/LILO) handle the boot
process. Put the Linux CD back in and there should be a rescue option
that will help you reinstall Grub so it will continue working properly.
~ There are a lot of posts in the Suse and other forums on this topic
specifically so the answer is probably already there too if you want to
search a little more with Google.

    Good luck.

As 'guest' said, this HAS been covered in a previous thread.

As I recall, it is only the DVD-kit for openSUSE that has the
grub-repair-tool...I think that the LiveCD (for KDE at least) does NOT
    contain the boot-repair option.

Another way to do that same repair is to burn the very small program
'Super Grub' onto a CD, which you then boot it up to do the repair. Get it here:

In the hope that Grub is present in the root partition of your Suse install you could use a boot manager like gag. It is a small iso to be burned on a cd. Just restart the pc with this cd and install gag adding the systems already on the disk
