Gnome main-menu taking lot of memory, CPU

Hi,

I just realized that my GNOME main-menu application is behaving strangely. It is eating up a lot of memory (approx. 800Mb of resident memory) and makes a peak of 100% CPU use every 3-4 seconds, resulting in an average of 4% over time. The problem is unsatisfactorily “solved” by killing and restarting main-menu, but comes slowly back.

I don’t think this is normal, is it?

I have a Dell workstation, with quad-core 2.5 GHz CPU and 4 Gb memory, a recently updated openSUSE 11 with Linux 2.6.25.9-0.2-default.

Thanks for your help!
