Exclamation I'm having an error, $HOME 664, How can I fix it?

Hello ppl, I relatively new to Linux, I recently installed opensuse 11/64 Gnome. I few days ago I added also the KDE 4 (its a gob smacking desktop).
Now when I start either desktop invorement gives and error showing $HOME 664, something with the default language. But even worst is that in the Gnome environment wen I open any directory and I try to open a file inside it redirects to my home directory...
What can I do??? Any ideas???

I'm not much in programming. Can you please explain step by step how can I do that? I'm sorry being a pain, but I'm more a graphical enviroment user. Thanks in advance.
