    Unhappy Cannot install (problem with the media?)

    I tried downloading iso of opensuse11.0 and burned a DVD. But when i tried to install it is giving that DVD is broken. I have downloaded twice it is the same error.



    Y is it so?

    I am in Bangalore, INDIA. Can I get a DVD here any where directly without all downlaoding and burning stuff.

    Can u give is any books has given CDs or DVDs of opensuse 11.0 which can be installed dual boot with VISTA.

    Have you checked the dozen other threads to get past the first set of
    suggestions? Checked the md5sum of the ISO? Of the written media?
    Burn slowly? Try in another machine?

    Also, what does "DVD is broken" mean? I doubt there is a message like
    that anywhere so please be specific regarding the output from the
    install. Otherwise, the best suggestion will be, "Fix it."

    When I was first experimenting with burning Linux DVDs, I made the mistake of burning the .ISO file to the DVD as if it were a data disk. Are you making this mistake?

    In Windows you could try downloading and using the program called MagicISO to burn the ISO (which is an image of what the files on the disk should be) into a bootable disk.

    The Disk Utility in Mac OS X does this nicely as well.
