Default Problem with Huawei E220 after latest kernek upgrade

    Hi to all,

I am using the opensuse 10.3. Last time I did an online upgrade, the kernel was upgrade to the last version 2.6.22.18 and after reboot my Huawei E220 USB modem didn't work.

I had to downgrade to the previous version 2.6.22.17 to be able to connect to the internet.

    The errors I got were:

    Take a look at:
Huawei E220 & recent kernels.. anyone else experiencing some issues? - Broadband & ADSL Forums - Internet, Gaming, Hardware, Software
which claims a fix that worked for 2 people.

[I just googled 'error -110' 'HUAWEI' to get that.]

It's probably some subtle change made to the driver (or USB-support code!?)
or whatever, which needs this other change, which didn't get included in the
kernel update. Of course, I'm just guessing.

    Hope this helps...

Thumbs down Re: Problem with Huawei E220 after latest kernek upgrade

hi, my Novatel mc950d Ovation modem also doesn't work with Suse > 11.1.
It worked after the installation until i did the first update.
Since then the modem gets resetted.
I also tried Suse 11.2 where the modem hangs up (pppd error 16).
Under 10.3 it all worked fine. Changes to the USB System?
