I have a shell script which I use with Firefox to subscribe to podcasts and news feeds. It takes the feed link decides whether it’s a podcast or news feed and adds it to akregator or amarok. Since upgrading to Firefox 3, the script no longer runs. I specify it as the application to use to open feeds in the firefox box, but the script is not run. It is not that the script crashes, it is that the script doesn’t get run at all (the script runs flawlessly from the command line). I’ve used this script with the last version of firefox without any problems. After some trial and error, I’m guessing that Firefox isn’t opening any external programs.
How can I make it work again??
