    Could be anything. Do you have any devices that aren't working? If not, I would just ignore it.

    It is a HP dv6815nr laptop. Everything works except for the internal microphones at the top of the lid. I still can't figure out how to get them going. I doubt all of that is connected to the microphones though. It is just one of those things that bugs you

    Yeah, laptops are strange beasts. Seems like manufacturers go out of their way to install exotic hardware that only works on Vista. I did some searching on your mic issue and didn't find anything. Hopefully someone here can figure that one out for you.
