Failed to start installation from DVD

Hi,

I’m a newbie in use of OpenSuse.
I downloaded the LiveCD of KDE and was impressed when started it.
Next I’ve downloaded OpenSuse 11.0 DVD and wanted to install both Gnome and KDE, because I’m not sure which desktop suites me best.

And now the frustating part: Everytime I want to start installing openSuse it fails to install. It never ever comes to the installing fase.
The bootscreen starts, then I choose “installation” and then I wait…Kernel is loading…100%…All drivers en devices starts without errors…and after loading the fourth stage of 'Loading Installation System" I get a notification “Make sure that CD 1 is in your drive”. When I hit OK an error is displayed and I can’t install my system.

The system I’m trying to install is: Toshiba Satellite A110-228.
I want to create a dual boot system (Windows XP is allready installed)

In my opinion during installation the system is unable to find the DVD or DVD player.
I’ve tried to use the boot option: insmod=ide-generic insmod=pata_jmicron and unfortunally it did not work…

Please can some help me??
(btw…i checked and double checked the media (md5) so there is no problem with the DVD)

Did you verify the md5sum (checksum) of the ISO before AND after burning
it? Does this happen on another computer?

Good luck.

also burn the iso image at 4x speed and DAO(disc at once mode)

Yes, I have double checked the DVD md5sum check multiple time (you can never be sure)

I also burned the DVD at 4x (and DAO is always on by default when burning ISO)

No I did not burn the DVD with the laptop (if I want this, I first must be able to install an OS and the problem is I can’t)

Yes, I haven burned multiple DVD’s DVD+, DVD- and DVD-RW

Yes I have also tried to run the live CD and I can install this without any problem.

It seems to me there is a problem during the last stage before starting the real installation. No connection with the DVD ROM. If I’m right more should have this problem and I read now and then I’m not the only one.
But I didn’t find a solution…so If there is a solution out there…please let me find you

Burning a CD or DVD and using it on a other BOX can give problems.
The player and burner differ a bit in spec.
I always use full speed I think it is
16X as long as I use it on own box every thing is fine.
